Kwaw-Mensah, a native of Ames, Iowa, was a Des Moines Register First-Team All-Elite team pick and an INA Class 4A First-Team selection in 2013 after breaking the Iowa Class 4A rushing record as a senior for Ames High with 2,806 yards. Kwaw-Mensah averaged 233.8 yards per game and rushed for 36 touchdowns in his record-setting season for the Little Cyclones.

Francis, a native of Dubuque, Iowa, handled all placekicking, punting and kickoff duties for Dubuque Hempstead High School in 2013. Francis was 22-of-25 on PATs and averaged 35.1 ypp.

Ortale was one of the top tight ends in Nevada, earning First-Team All-USA Today honors in the state in 2013. As a senior in 2013, Ortale had 28 catches for 699 yards and 12 touchdowns for Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nev.  Ortale’s father, Ted, was an all-state performer at Ankeny High School in the 1980s where he was a high school teammate of Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads.
