Miller's pinch runner Erin Johnson was the only Cyclone to advance beyond first base, reaching third with two outs in the top of the seventh before Sara Rice popped out to end the game.

Rice, Lexi Slater, and Tori Torrescano each singled in the game, Slater with a hit to start the game for the second-straight day. Amber Ewert was hit by a pitch to reach base in the sixth inning.

Baylor opened a 5-0 lead in the first inning, scoring runs on a Taylor Smith wild pitch, RBI singles from Kaitlyn Thumann, Megan Turk and Kelsi Kettler and an RBI groundout from Clare Hosack.

Smith settled down after the first, allowing just two more hits through the end of the fifth inning. The Bears put up their sixth run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a fielding error by Miller.

The Bears recorded two hits in the bottom of the sixth but failed to drive in a run, stranding runners at second a third.
