Eight Cyclones Named to Academic All-Big 12

ISU had five first team honorees, led by Sara Davison. Davison, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, became a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree. The last Cyclone to make three consecutive appearances on the first team was Rachel Zabriskie, who did so in 2009-11. Joining Davison on the first team is two-time first team member Jorden Spendlove and first-time honorees Aly Cappaert, Sarah Hawryluk and Maddie Reese.
Sara Rice made her second consecutive appearance on the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team and was joined by first time honorees Brittany Gomez and Liana Henry.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
