AMES, Iowa - Iowa State freshman forward Koree Willer earned Big 12 conference Newcomer of the Week honors, the league announced Tuesday. This marks the first time, the Fort Collins, Colo. native has earned the recognition from the conference.

Willer earned the honor after leading the Cyclones to their first conference win against the Oklahoma Sooners Sunday. The freshman continued her stellar season with a goal and a pair of assists against Oklahoma. In the 24th minute with the score tied 0-0 Willer started the Cyclones off strong drilling a shot into the back of the net. The freshman wasn't done yet. She set up teammate Emily Goldstein in the 51st and 71st minutes en route to the Cyclones 4-1 victory. Willer is third on the team in goals this season with four and tied for first in the Big 12 in game-winning goals this season.
