Iowa State Prepares For Two Top-20 Matches

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State tennis team will close out its Big 12 spring competition this weekend on the road against No. 19 Texas Tech Sunday and Monday at No. 12 Baylor.

Coming off its first conference win last weekend against Kansas, Iowa State (4-16, 1-6 Big 12) will wrap up its regular season against two Texas schools before competing in the Big 12 Championships next weekend.

The Cyclones' first stop will be in Lubbock, Texas on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. The Red Raiders are 16-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play and are tied with Texas for first place in the Big 12.

When the team moves to Waco, Texas for Monday evening's dual, they will challenge the Lady Bears as the last match of the season. No. 12 Baylor is 5-1 in the Big 12. Action at the Hurd Tennis Center will start off at 5 p.m. 

Iowa State will travel to College Station, Texas for the remainder of the week in preparation for the championships that begin Thursday, April 26.
