Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State (6-0, 0-0) improved to 6-0 with a win over Auburn Monday and is looking to start 7-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season when it faces Northern Iowa Saturday at the Hy-Vee Big Four Classic in Des Moines. ISU is 2-2 all-time at Wells Fargo Arena.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 17 in The Associated Press poll for the second week in a row. ISU comes in at No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
- Iowa State is averaging 99.7 points in the last three games. The Cyclones’ season average of 91.8 points per game ranks second in the Big 12 behind only Oklahoma State (91.9). The offense, which is top-10 nationally, is one of just three teams with six players averaing in double figures (Charlotte, Florida).
- Iowa State has been riding the strong play of newcomer DeAndre Kane. Kane, who has twice been named the Big 12’s Newcomer of the Week, is averaging 15 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He is the only conference player ranking in the top-10 of scoring, rebounding and assisting.
- Iowa State is sharing the rock with assists coming on 63.1 percent of its 195 field goals (75.3 percent of field goals in the last two games). The Cyclones lead the Big 12 in assists (20.5) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8). In the last two games, ISU boasts a 3.1 assist/turnover ratio. Freshman Monté Morris has been sensational in those two games, dishing out 16 assists with no turnovers.

ISU boasts a smaller lineup, but has three elite rebounders in Hogue (9.8, first in Big 12), Melvin Ejim (8.0) and Kane (7.5, T-6th). Ejim would be tied for fifth in rebounding had he not missed the first two games of the season.
- Ejim recorded the 23rd double-double of his career and the first this season against Auburn, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The preseason All-Big 12 pick returned after missing two games and is leading Iowa State with 17 points per game.
