AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head men’s golf coach Andrew Tank announced today the addition of Chad Keohane to his staff as an assistant coach.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Chad to our program,” Tank said. “He brings experience as a player and a coach. He will be a great asset as our program tries to reach new goals.”

Keohane graduated from the University of Texas El Paso in 2009 where he was a member of the golf team. He was a Second Team All-C-USA pick in 2006.

Keohane went on to a professional golfing career as fulltime member of the Hooters Tour. He’s been an instructor at the IMG Academy since 2011 and was a graduate assistant at UTEP.

“I am beyond excited to be joining the Iowa State athletic community,” Keohane said. “Coach Tank has built a very strong, competitive team here and I can't wait to come and help him try to bring the team more success. With the beautiful campus and state-of-the-art golf facilities, the Iowa State golf programs are on the rise and I'm so glad to be a part of it.”

Iowa State is coming off of its first NCAA Finals appearance since 1953, finishing 25th at the 2014 NCAA Championship. The Cyclones return their top-six golfers from last season, including All-American Scott Fernandez and All-Big 12 performers Sam Daley, Ruben Sondjaja and Nick Voke.
