AMES, Iowa The Iowa State athletics department teamed up with KCCI-TV last weekend to collect donations and toys for Marine Corps Toys For Tots program at last weekend’s Cyclone basketball games.

According to Nanci Elder, KCCI’s director of marketing, Iowa State collected over $6,000 and 500 new toys at its women’s game against UW-Milwaukee Saturday and the men’s game Sunday against Drake.

"I’m very impressed with the generosity and community awareness that the fans of ISU Basketball displayed last weekend," said Elder. "We actually witnessed fans that attended both of the games and made donations to TOYS FOR TOTS on Saturday and Sunday."

Those still wishing to donate can do so until Dec. 22. All donations should be made at the KCCI-TV office at 888 Ninth Street in Des Moines. For those outside the Des Moines area, donations may be made at Fareway Stores through Dec. 15.
