SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Cyclone All-Americans Kaylee Manns (2006-09) and Ashley Mass (2007-10) helped the Hoosier Exterminators claim the inaugural Premier Volleyball League (PVL) USA Volleyball Open National Championship Tuesday night, defeating Iowa Ice, and 2011 Cyclone seniors Carly Jenson, Caitlin Mahoney and Kelsey Petersen, in four sets, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 25-18.
Entering Tuesday night’s title match, both teams boasted perfect 7-0 records, the top-seeded Exterminators having dropped just five sets in their run to the championship. The fourth-seeded Ice knocked off the No. 3 seed Utah Unity in five sets earlier on Tuesday to reach the tournament finals.

Regions competing for the $20,000 prize purse include Arizona (Arizona Sizzle), Northern California (Dream Team NCVA), Great Lakes (Team Great Lakes), Hoosier (Exterminators), Puget Sound (Puget Sound), Evergreen (Team Evergreen), Florida (Team Florida WAVE), Iowa (Iowa Ice), New England (Team New England), North Texas (Team North Texas), Intermountain (Utah Unity) and Western Empire (Western Empire).
