AMES, Iowa – Cyclone volleyball season tickets will go on sale Wednesday, July 11, at 8 a.m. CST. Last season, 28,926 fans attended matches at Hilton Coliseum, the second-highest attendance total in program history.
“Hilton Magic has been very good to our volleyball program,” head Cyclone coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said. “We have the best fans in the country, and we hope to continue to grow our fan base. One of our goals this year is to get into the top 10 in national attendance and, with about 200 more fans per night, we will achieve that.”
2012 looks to be another stellar year for Cyclone volleyball as the team returns three All-Americans from last season’s Elite Eight squad, including first team selection Alison Landwehr, and ushers in the country’s sixth-ranked recruiting class.
Season tickets can be purchased for $40, or just over $3 a match, and include preferred seating in sections 110-113, parking in the lots around Hilton and admission to the Cardinal and Gold intrasquad match.
The Cyclone coaches and players will host two meet and greets for season-ticket holders during the season as well as a chalk talk exclusive before the Aug. 18 scrimmage.
Single-match tickets will go on sale Aug. 20, at which time adult tickets can be purchased for $5 and youth tickets will be available for $4.
Iowa State will play 13 home matches in 2012, including the Sept. 5 home opener against intrastate rival Northern Iowa. The Cyclones will also host matches against perennial powerhouses Nebraska (Sept. 15), Oklahoma (Oct. 20) and Texas (Nov. 24).
Big 12 newcomers TCU and West Virginia will make their first trips to Ames on Sept. 29 and Oct. 10, respectively.
“We have a very tough schedule this season,” Johnson-Lynch said. “My hope is that Cyclone fans will come out in even bigger numbers and help us make this our most memorable season yet.”
