AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State soccer team heads to Austin, Texas to take on the Texas Longhorns Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last time out

Iowa State dropped their conference opener 2-1 against No. 15 Texas Tech in a tightly contested game. The Cyclones were led by sophomore Haley Albert, who scored a header in the 82nd minute to make a late game comeback a possibility for Iowa State. Texas Tech had only given up three goals this season prior to facing the Cyclones.

Scouting the Longhorns

Texas (7-3-1) opened up conference play with a 2-0 win against TCU. The Longhorns are led by Kelsey Shimmick and Brooke Gilbert, both have scored four goals for Texas this season. Gilbert and Shimmick were both named to the 2012 Big 12 all-tounament team last season.

What to watch for

The key matchup for this game will be how Iowa State attacks the Texas goal. The Cyclones will look to continue a potent offensive attack that took 11 shots on goal against Texas Tech in their conference opener. The Cyclones have not lost a game this season when scoring two or more goals.

The game will be broadcast live on Longhorn Network. Results will be available on Cyclones.com after the conclusion of the game.
