Iowa State Unveils 2014 Soccer Schedule

AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State soccer team announced its 2014 schedule Friday. The Cyclones will host Nebraska-Omaha on Aug. 15 in an exhibition game before kicking off the regular season on a road trip to Mississippi, where the Cyclones will take on Mississippi State on Aug. 22.

Iowa State’s first weekend of the regular season will be a true test to start of the year. After the Cyclones’ road stint against Mississippi State the team will travel across the state to take on Ole Miss on Aug 24.

The Cyclones will host eight home matches this season at the Cyclone Sports Complex. Included in those homes games, is the annual matchup against rival Iowa on Sept. 5. Iowa State will also play host to in-state foe, Drake, on Sept. 19.

Iowa State will face six teams that played in the 2013 NCAA tournament including Denver, who was the 2013 Summit League Champion.

Iowa State will begin league play with a road trip to Oklahoma State on Sept. 26 before rounding on its Big 12 slate on Oct. 31 against TCU.

The Big 12 tournament will be played in Kansas City, Mo. for the second straight season. The first round of conference tournament action is set to begin Wednesday, Nov. 5, ending with the conference championship game on Saturday, Nov. 9.
