AMES, Iowa - No. 17 Iowa State travels to Hawai'i for the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. The Cyclones (8-0) face George Mason (5-4) in the opening round on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. The opening game will be televised by ESPNU.

Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State (8-0, 0-0), which faces George Mason (5-4) to open the Diamond Head Classic, is one of 13 teams nationally and the only Big 12 team that remains undefeated. The 8-0 start ties for the second best in school history (1940-41, 1941-42). ISU started 10-0 in 1996-97.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 17 in The Associated Press poll for the fourth week in a row. ISU comes in at No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
- Iowa State ranks among the NCAA’s top-10 in five statistical categories: First in scoring (90.9), first in assists (19.8), fourth in assist/turnover ratio (1.78), sixth in scoring margin (21.5) and tied for sixth in 3-point field goals per game (9.9).
- Iowa State has five different players averaging double figures. The Cyclones have had five players tally 20+ points in a game this season, the latest being sophomore Georges Niang. Niang scored a career-high 22 points vs. UNI and followed with another career-high vs. Iowa (24).
- Iowa State has had five different players earn six weekly awards from the Big 12 Conference this season. Most recently, Niang was named Big 12 Player of the Week.
- Dustin Hogue, who was named national player of the week on Dec. 10, has posted double-doubles in each of the last three games and is averaging 17.0 points and 15.3 rebounds during that time. Hogue is also shooting 71.4 percent during that stretch.
- Hogue leads the Big 12 and ranks sixth nationally averaging 11.1 boards per game.
- Since 1998, only seven Division I players have averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Senior guard DeAndre Kane is currently averaging 14.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists.
- Melvin Ejim has been a force since returning from injury (knee). He is leading the Cyclones averaging 18.7 points per game to go along with 7.7 boards. Ejim, who is shooting 52.5 percent from the field, has been in double figures in all six games since his return, including four games with 20+ points. He ranks among the top-10 in the Big 12 in six statistical categories. He is one of six players nationally averaging 18 points, 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from behind the arc.
- The Cyclones are first nationally averaging 19.8 assists per game. ISU is assisting on 62.4 percent of its field goals (158 assts/253 fg).

- In the Fred Hoiberg era, the Cyclones have made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game 51 times. They have hit 10 or more in four of eight games this season.
- Iowa State has at least 16 assists in every game this season.

- Iowa State has had at least four players in double figures in each game this season.
