Kane On Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior guard DeAndre Kane has been named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List by the USBWA. Kane joins 22 other players on the watch list for the award, which is presented to the national player of the year.

Kane, who is averaging 16.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists, was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 yesterday. In conference action, Kane is leading the Big 12 with 20.8 points and 3.0 steals, while also ranking second in assists (5.2).

The Pittsburgh, Pa. native joins Creighton’s Doug McDermott as the only player on the list to be named Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week at some point this season.

The 16th-ranked Cyclones are back in action Saturday when they host No. 22 Kansas State.
