Editor's Note: DeAndre Kane is a senior on the Iowa State men's basketball team working toward earning his Master's Degree in Higher Education. As part of his Higher Ed 591 course, Kane will be doing a weekly blog to give fans an inside look at his life as a student-athlete. The course is of the field experience variety and he'll be focusing on the role of media communications in higher education and athletics.

Hey Cyclone fans, I'm here in Kansas City the night before our first game of the Big 12 Tournament. The past week has been really emotional playing my last game in Hilton in front of the best fans in America. My family was able to come in town to see how loud and crazy Hilton gets and they really enjoyed it. When they called my name for the last time and I walked out on the court, I felt proud to be a Cyclone for my final year. We arrived in Kansas City yesterday and we had media obligations and a light walk-through today. It's been a fun time here so far, the atmosphere has been crazy and the team is very excited to get out on the court tomorrow. I hope you guys are too. We look forward to giving you a great weekend of basketball.

Go Cyclones!
