Hahn Earns 13th Big 12 Defensive POW Award
This also marks the sixth consecutive week dating back to last season that the Cyclones have picked up at least one weekly award from the Big 12. Of those six, Hahn was responsible for four of them.
Hahn was the leader of the backline at the UND Classic as the No. 15 Cyclones got off to a 3-0 start. In ISU’s first match against South Dakota State, Hahn led the way with 22 digs to extend a streak of consecutive 20+ digs matches to five. After posting 14 digs in the Cyclones’ win over North Dakota, Hahn posted another big number during Iowa State’s 3-1 win over Texas A&M, leading the way with 23 digs.
Unsurprisingly, Hahn is the Big 12 leader in digs at 5.90 per set. Her work has also helped guide Iowa State to the top of the league rankings in terms of kills allowed, with ISU conceding only 11.30 per set.
Hahn is a two-time AVCA All-American, earning second-team honors in 2012 and the two-time defending Big 12 Libero of the Year. She is one of 30 candidates nationally for the Senior CLASS Award, given to student-athletes for their outstanding work on and off the court.
Oklahoma's Sallie McLaurin was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, and West Virginia's Jordan Anderson earned the Big 12 Rookie of the Week award.
Iowa State is back in action on Wednesday when it makes the short trip to Cedar Falls to take on Northern Iowa. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in the McLeod Center.
