Iowa State Announces Spring Volleyball Slate
The Cyclones will kick-off the spring slate by hosting a four-team tournament in Hilton Coliseum on Apr. 5. The Cyclones will be joined by UNI, Omaha and Nebraska-Kearny. The tournament will be a two-court event.
The next Saturday, Apr. 12, Iowa State will travel to Cedar Falls to take part in UNI’s Spring Tournament. The eight-team tournament will feature four matches for the Cyclones.
Iowa State’s next stop will be Carroll High School on Apr. 17 when the Cyclones take on the Creighton Bluejays at 6:30 p.m.
Iowa State closes out the spring schedule two days later, Apr. 19, with a showdown against Nebraska at 2 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. The Huskers, who appeared in the NCAA Volleyball Championship Regional Final in 2013, and Cyclones will play a full, regulation match. Admission to the match against Nebraska is free.
The Cyclones are coming off their eighth-consecutive NCAA Championship trip in 2013. Iowa State returns 11 letterwinners, led by 2013 AVCA All-American Mackenzie Bigbee. The spring slate will also offer fans a chance to see some new faces in Maria Fruechte and Samara West, who are coming off redshirt seasons and true freshman Monique Harris, who enrolled at Iowa State in January and will practice and compete with ISU in the spring.
