Cyclones Head To DeKalb For Tri-Meet
AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics team (2-4 overall, 1-1 Big 12) will travel to DeKalb, Ill. to take on Northern Illinois and Texas Women’s University on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the NIU Convocation Center.
The Cyclones will look to build momentum coming off their best performance of the season, a 196.025-194.175 win over Big 12 foe West Virginia. It was the first time Iowa State has scored over 196.000 in the regular season since 2011. The team set new season-highs on vault (48.750), uneven bars (49.025) and beam (49.125).
While the Cyclones set 16 new individual season-high scores and five career-highs in their last time out, the performance of senior Camille Santerre-Gervais was record-setting. Santerre-Gervais tied the school record for highest score on uneven bars with a 9.95, a feat only four other gymnasts in program history have matched.
