CHICAGO - Iowa State senior Kelsey Bolte has been selected to participate in ESPN's Annual College Basketball Slam Dunk and Three-Point Contests. The competition, which is held in conjunction with the men's Slam Dunk and Three-Point Contest, will be held on March 31 in Hofheinz Pavilion on the University of Houston campus and will premiere at 8 p.m. (CDT) on ESPN2.
The Ida Grove, Iowa native is the seventh Cyclone to compete in the three-point contest in the last 11 years. The last Cyclone contestant was Heather Ezell in 2009. Ezell advanced to the semifinals of the competition.
Other Cyclones that have participated in the event include Lyndsey Medders (2007), Anne O'Neil (2005), Lindsey Wilson (2003), Tracy Gahan (2002) and Stacy Frese (2000).
"It is a great honor for Kelsey to be chosen to participate in the three-point contest as she is one of the best shooters in the country," Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly said. "She adds her name to a long list of Iowa State players who have been a part of this event."
Bolte ranked 15th nationally and third in the Big 12 with a three-point field goal percentage of 42.1 percent. Her 2.7 three-pointers per game tied her for second in the league and 34th nationally.

She also ranks seventh all-time in three-point field goal percentage (40.1) and fourth in attempts (688). Bolte hit five or more threes in a game 15 times in her career.
