AMES, Iowa – Northern Iowa’s David Johnson had 240 yards of total offense and scored four touchdowns, two in the air and two on the ground, as the Panthers defeated Iowa State, 28-20, in front of a sellout crowd of 56,800. The Cyclones fall to 0-1 this season, while UNI improves to 1-0.

Turning Point of the Game
After Iowa State’s Deon Broomfield forced a fumble and made the recovery at the UNI 20, the Panthers defense came up with the stop and held the Cyclones to a Cole Netten 38-yard field goal. The field goal trimmed the Panther lead to 21-20, but UNI would score on its first possession of the fourth quarter. The stop turned out to be pivotal in stopping the Cyclones' momentum.
