AMES, Iowa- No. 10 Utah recorded 593 yards of total offense in a 68-27 victory over Iowa State Saturday night at Jack Trice Stadium. Quarterback Jordan Wynn passed for 325 yards to help the Utes improve to 5-0 on the season, while the Cyclones fall to 3-3.

It was a promising start for the Cyclones, as Iowa State took advantage of two Utah turnovers to take a 14-10 lead after the first quarter.

David Sims recovered an Eddie Wide fumble at the Utah 7-yard line to set up the first score. Three plays later Alexander Robinson took an option pitch from Austen Arnaud from two yards out to give the Cyclones an early 7-0 lead. It was Robinson's 23rd career rushing touchdown.

Sims came up big again with an interception off a Wynn pass at the Utah 37-yard line. Four plays later Arnaud found Jake Williams on a 20-yard touchdown toss to move the Cyclones back in front, 14-10.

The second quarter was all Utah, as the Utes found their groove on offense. Utah scored 31 second-quarter points to blow the game open and take a 41-14 lead at the break. Wide and Matt Asiata both had touchdown runs and Shaky Smithson threw a touchdown pass and caught a 61-yarder from Wynn.

Utah outgained Iowa State, 367-168 in first half total yardage.

The Cyclones scored two touchdowns in the second half. Collin Franklin caught a 36-yard pass from Arnaud and backup quarterback James Capello scored on a 19-yard touchdown run.

Iowa State finished the game with 348 yards of total offense. Shontrelle Johnson led all Cyclone rushers with 50 yards on five carries. Arnaud was 13-for-31 for 178 yards through the air. Franklin was again Iowa State's top receiving target, catching four passes for 59 yards.

Sims had a team-high 10 tackles.

The Cyclones travel to No. 6 Oklahoma next weekend (Oct. 16) to face the Sooners. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
