Iowa State Women's Basketball Camps Open
The ISU women's basketball staff will hold its Elite Camp for grades ninth-12th from June 11-12. The Elite Camp features high intensity drills, designed for advanced players. The emphasis will be placed on offense, with breakdown work on specific skills for guard and post play.
The Cyclones will hold Day Camp, June 23-26, for girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. This camp will emphasize fundamentals and develop basic knowledge of the game. Sessions begin at 9 a.m. and go through noon each day.
Iowa State’s Position Camp will take place June 15-17 and will be tailored to girls in fifth through 12th grade. The position camp provides instruction and emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball, with breakdown work for both perimeter and inside players.
Iowa State has a new addition to its slate with the Shooting Camp, which will be held on June 20th and is tailored for grades third through 12th. The shooting camp will provide campers with numerous drills geared toward helping each individual camper improve their shot. Campers will be grouped according to age, grade, skill level. Each drill will emphasize good fundamentals with fun games added in as well.
Lastly, ISU will host the Cyclone Shoot-Out once again from June 21-22 for teams wishing to get on-court instruction.
Campers will be coached by Iowa State women’s basketball coaches, as well as current student-athletes. There will also be coaches from area high schools and colleges. For the Elite and Position Camps, campers may stay overnight in the Iowa State residence halls or can commute to camp on a daily basis. The Day Camp will be a strictly commuter camp.
