Wrestled to an 18-10 record in his final Iowa State season...was crowned champion at both the Kaye Young Open and the UNI Open... posted his 50th career win with a 10-4 decision over Purdue's Dustin Shultz at the UNI Open... capped off his career as a Cyclone with a pin in 0:28 over Brutus Scheffel of West Virginia to take third place at the Big 12 Championships... the fall in 0:28 was the second fastest in Big 12 Championship history... finished the season with eight bonus-point victories.

Finished junior season 14-15 overall and 8-8 in dual competition… needed a win at the Big 12 Championship to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships… was not able to get it after going 0-2, falling to NCAA runner-up Josh Kindig of Oklahoma State 9-2 and NCAA-qualifier Mike Morales of West Virginia 9-6… downed Arizona State’s Preston McCalmon 7-3 to move to 2-0 all-time in matches in his home state… went 4-2 at the Southern Scuffle, falling just one match shy of placing… opened the Southern Scuffle with an impressive 13-0 major decision win over North Carolina’s Max Rohskopf… picked up career win No. 40 after downing Kent State’s Michael DePalama 11-8 at the NWCA National Duals. 

NCAA-qualifier at 141 pounds for the second consecutive season… clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships with a runner-up finish at the Big 12 Championships to eventual NCAA champion Kendric Maple of Oklahoma… finished the year with a 15-14 overall record… went 8-7 in dual competition… 141 pound starter in every dual meet... took third-place at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open... went 5-1 earning a fall and scoring at least seven points in all his wins... wrestled one match at the National Collegiate Open in Richmond, Va., defeating Will Switzer of Lehigh 10-7.

Finished season with 12-13 record … earned trip to NCAA Championships at 141 pounds, going 1-2 with a pin of Northern Illinois’ Kevin Fanta in 1:40 … shocked the wrestling world with his 11-9 win over then-No. 1 Kendric Maple of Oklahoma … went on a five-match winning streak at the Midlands Championships, including a victory over then-No. 2 Zach Kemmerer of Penn … finished sixth at 141 pounds in Midlands Championships … had a 7-6 record in dual meets … earned first-career dual meet victory with a 6-5 decision over Brandon West of Missouri … finished fourth for Cyclones at 141 pounds in the Big 12 Championships.
