Dear prospective Cyclone,

Thank you for your interest in Iowa State University and the Women’s Soccer program.  Please take a moment to go through the above presentation, as it will give you a snapshot into what makes Iowa State University a truly special place to embark on for your collegiate journey.  Iowa State University is nationally renowned for its academic prowess and athletic successes, but what truly makes this university great is the support that is garnered from not only the Ames community, but the entire state of Iowa and all past alumni.  I have been all over the country in recent years and there isn’t one place I haven’t been that I didn’t hear a go cyclones when wearing my Iowa State gear.  The love and passion that people have for this university and the Cyclones is truly special and something that is carried with you for a lifetime.

The Iowa State Women’s Soccer program has continued to make great strides over the past few years and as a staff, we continue to leave no stone unturned in working towards consistently being in the top half of the Big 12 conference.  The graduating 2014 class helped to bring this program back to not only respectability in the conference, but nationally as well.  They realized their goal of getting back to the Big 12 Championships this past Fall 2013 season and had a 4th place finish in the Big 12, which was tied for the highest placement in school history.  Starting 4 freshmen during that run, the team is poised to build on that success and are working harder than ever to not only be a consistent Big 12 tournament team, but push beyond what has ever been accomplished by a Cyclone Soccer team.

Not only is our student athletes breaking through previous barriers on the soccer field, they are ever striving to achieve greatness in the class room.  This past fall of 2013 season, of the 17 eligible players for the award, 14 different players earned Academic All-Conference honors.  The team also posted a 3.31 GPA to earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.  The Cyclone women’s soccer program is committed to achieving and setting a high standard with every goal that they have set.

I welcome you to continue to research Iowa State University and all of the athletics programs, as you will see that we have incredible support from the Athletic Administration, the student body and the community as a whole.  The academic services through the athletic department provide our student athletes with full academic support to achieve greatness in the classroom, Iowa State is constantly upgrading the facilities on campus to provide athletes with state of the art equipment to give them every opportunity to succeed on the field and each program has tremendous fan support to create an incredible environment at all the sporting events.  Iowa State is truly a special place to pursue your academic goals, play at the highest level on the field and have an incredible college experience.

Again, thank you for your interest in Iowa State University and the women’s soccer program, we truly look forward to answering any questions that you might have and providing you with the necessary information when making such an important decision.

Go Cyclones!
