Cyclones Earn National Team Academic Award
AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team added another academic honor Friday when the Cyclones earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.
Since 1996, the NSCAA has presented the academic accolade to teams that have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the previous academic year. Iowa State earned the honor based on its achievements in the classroom for the 2011-12 academic year.
The honor continues the impressive academic achievements the Cyclones have earned this year. Iowa State led the Big 12 Conference with 18 Academic All-Big 12 Team members, a number that was also the highest in program history.
