Cyclones to Face Stanford
AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State soccer team travels to the University of Stanford to take on the No. 3 ranked Cardinal Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Cyclones (4-3) fell to Santa Clara by a score of 5-1 on the Broncos home turf on Thursday. Iowa State jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a goal from junior Alyssa Williamson but were unable to match Santa Clara’s offensive attack for the remainder of the game.
Scouting the Cardinal
The third-ranked Stanford Cardinal (4-0-1) have outscored their opponents 11-2 so far this season and are led by junior Taylor Uhl, who led the nation in scoring while playing for Minnesota. Uhl has already scored four goals for the Cardinal so far this season. Stanford’s one tie this season came against No. 17 Portland.
What to watch for
The key matchup of the game will be how the Cyclones attack the strong Cardinal defense. In their previous game, Iowa State attacked the goal early scoring in the second minute of the game. The Cyclones will need to ramp up their offensive attack against the tough Stanford defense. The Cyclones will be led by forward Jennifer Dominguez, who has three goals this season. Stanford has allowed only two goals so far this year.
