Iowa State To Host TCU

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team (16-5, 5-5 Big 12) takes on TCU (12-9, 3-6 Big 12) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones are looking for their second sweep of the season after they handed TCU a 71-49 loss in Fort Worth, Texas. ISU has already swept Texas Tech.

Cyclone Headlines
- Iowa State is looking for its second sweep in Big 12 play with a win over TCU on Wednesday. The Cyclones handed the Horned Frogs a 71-49 loss at TCU to open Big 12 play. ISU also owns the all-time series 4-1.
-The Cyclones are one of the nation’s best free-throw shooting teams, connecting on 79.9 percent from the charity stripe, which ranks second nationally. In conference play, Hallie Christofferson (.945), Brynn Williamson (.920) and Jadda Buckley (.919) top the Big 12 in free-throw shooting.
-Senior Hallie Christofferson was recently named to the Capital One Academic All-District 6 Women’s Basketball team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Christofferson was one of just two Big 12 athletes named to the list.
-Freshman Seanna Johnson continues to impress on the boards. Johnson is the third-leading rebounder in the Big 12 and one of just six freshmen in the nation averaging 8.2 boards per game. Johnson is also the only 5-10 freshman in the country with 8.2 boards per game to her name.
-The Cyclones dropped out of the AP Poll after falling at West Virginia and defeating Kansas State this past week. The Cyclones also sit at No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches poll. This is the 23rd-straight time Iowa State has been ranked in the AP or USA Today polls.
-During Big 12 play, Christofferson is averaging 17.0 points, the senior is also a combined 55-of-126, shooting 43.7 percent from the field. Christofferson also is one of just two players in the Big 12 in the top-10 in seven different categories, with the other being Baylor’s Odyssey Sims.
-Christofferson currently ranks eighth in the Iowa State record books with 1,548 career points. The senior is one of just eight Cyclones in ISU history to reach 1,500 career points. Christofferson is also one of just four Cyclones with 1,500 points and over 700 rebounds, joining Megan Taylor, Angie Welle, Jayme Olson and Tonya Burns. She also ranks in the top-10 in Iowa State history in rebounds, free-throw’s made (393), free-throw’s attempted (465) and free-throw percentage (.845).
-Iowa State’s 11-0 non-conference record marks just the third time in school history the Cyclones posted a perfect non-conference schedule. Since the 2005-06 season, only nine Big 12 squads have posted undefeated non-conference slates.
-The Cyclones’ 14-game winning streak to kick off the season is the longest in school history and also sets the school record for a program-best start (14-0).

Last Time Out
-Iowa State returned to its winning ways after a convincing 84-65 win over the Kansas State Wildcats. the Cyclones grabbed as much as a 30-point lead over Kansas State in the second half.
-Iowa State was led by junior guard Nikki Moody, who scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and tallied seven assists.
-Senior Hallie Christofferson chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocks against KSU.

Series vs. TCU
-This is the sixth overall meeting between TCU and Iowa State. The Cyclones own the all-time series, 4-1, with their sole loss coming last year at TCU.
-Iowa State took game one of this year’s series with a 22-point victory at TCU in the Big 12 opener. Iowa State hit a season-high 15 3-pointers against the horned Frogs.
