Qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second season in a row... posted an 18-7 record on the year, including a 10-3 dual mark... notched a 3-1 victory in tie-breaker one over Thomas Sleigh of Bucknell at the NCAA Championships... suffered a 2-1 loss at the Big 12 Championships to Oklahoma State's Nolan Boyd to finish runner-up... defeated Brooks Climmons of Oklahoma by 6-3 decision in the Big 12 semifinals... pinned Jakob Scheffl of West Virginia in the first period (2:52) during the ISU-WVU dual... grabbed a 16-4 major-decision victory over Konner Witt of Air Force in the opening round of the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational... put on a dominating performance at the Kaye Young Open en route to a 184-pound title... beat Ben Wallace of NIACC by 22-7 technical fall to advance to the finals where he would win by medical-forfeit... picked up another technical-fall when he dropped Wouvel Cevelon of Iowa Lakes, 17-2... opened the season with by pinning David Frazier of Lincoln College in 4:56.
NCAA-qualifier at 184 pounds in first collegiate season… went 1-2 at first NCAA Championships with a 11-4 over Lock Haven’s Fred Garcia… became the first freshman Big 12 champion for the Cyclones since heavyweight David Zabriskie in 2007… knocked off No. 1 seed Nolan Boyd of Oklahoma State 4-3 in the title bout… trailed 3-2 late before scoring a bear hug takedown with 20 seconds left for the win and NCAA-bid… finished the season 25-11 overall and 6-4 in duals wrestling both at 174 and 184 pounds… took fifth-place at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational after going 5-2… dominated All-American Bryce Hammond of CSU-Bakersfield in the fifth-place bout, trouncing him 15-5 with over four minutes of riding time… took fifth again at the Southern Scuffle a few weeks later after going 6-2 with a pin… took third-place at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open… was undefeated until the semifinals, where he fell to three-time All-American Logan Storley of Minnesota 8-6 in tiebreaker period one… finished the season with three pins, three major decisions and a tech fall.

Holds the record for most career wins at Napoleon High School as he compiled a career prep record of 195-15 … won back to back state titles his junior and senior seasons … named the 2012 Jackson Citizen Patriot Wrestler of the Year … as a junior went 52-0 en route to a state championship at 152 lbs … as a senior went 49-1 en route to a state championship at 160 lbs … went 50-5 as a sophomore finishing seventh in the state … coached by Carl Bunker.
