JERUSALEM, Israel – Cyclone sophomore swimmer Shahar Silberman took home the bronze medal in the 200-meter butterfly earlier this week at the 2013 Maccabiah Games. The former Israeli National Youth Team member clocked in at 2:19.82 behind fellow Israeli Shir Wasserman and American Leah Goldman.

“Although as a competitive athlete my goal is to be first, I was very happy with my time,” Silberman said. “It was my second time swimming on the Israeli team at the Maccabiah; being part of the games is a great experience and a lot of fun.”

Silberman placed fourth in both the 200 fly and the 400 individual medley in her first appearance at the Maccabiah Games back in 2009 and holds three Israeli National Championship titles in the 200 fly.

In her first season with the Cyclones in 2012-13, Silberman raced the second-fastest 200 fly time on the team, touching the wall at 2:06.30 at the Big 12 Championships meet.
