Iowa State To Take On Iowa
AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State soccer team will head to Iowa City, Iowa to play the Hawkeyes Friday at 7 p.m. in the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk series.
Last time out
The Cyclones came up short against Minnesota falling 1-0 in a hard fought game for their first loss of the season. Iowa State senior goalkeeper Maddie Jobe recorded five saves during the game bringing her career total to 218, which is the fourth most in school history.
Scouting the Hawkeyes
The Hawkeyes (4-0) are led by junior Cloe Lacasse, who has two goals and one assist so far this season. The Canadian native has been named offensive player of the year for the Hawkeyes for the past two seasons. Last year Lacasse scored 13 goals for the Hawkeyes. Iowa has registered wins against Drake, Western Michigan, UC Davis and Pacific. Iowa leads the all-time series 8-5-2.
What to watch for
The Cyclones will look to stop an Iowa attack that has out scored opponents 7-1 so far this season. Iowa State goalkeeper Maddie Jobe needs just one shutout to tie the Cyclone record for shutouts in her career. Iowa State has yet to give up more than one goal in a game this season.
