Jeff Grayer completed his career following the 1987-88 season in which the Cyclones were ranked among the top 20 in both wire polls for several weeks. The Flint, Mich., native finished as ISU’s all-time leading scorer with 2,502 points and ranks as the state of Iowa’s all-time Division I collegiate scoring leader.

 

Grayer set an all-time single-season scoring record his senior year, recording 811 points while leading the conference in scoring (25.3) and tying for the lead in rebounding (9.4). He earned second-team All-America honors from the Associated Press in 1988, was a third-team selection UPI, and helped the 1988 U.S. Olympic team capture a bronze medal.

 

Grayer earned all-Big Eight accolades three seasons and all-defensive Big Eight recognition four consecutive years. He was a first-round NBA draft pick of the Milwaukee Bucks, the 13th selection overall.
