NORMAN, Okla. - Landry Jones hit on 30-of-34 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns as No. 6 Oklahoma beat Iowa State, 52-0, at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The loss drops Iowa State to 1-2 in the Big 12 Conference and 3-4 overall. Oklahoma improves to 2-0 in the league and 6-0 overall.

The Sooners drove 12 yards on 80 plays over the first 3:10 of the game with Sooner quarterback Jones hitting tight end James Hanna for a 3-yard TD pass and a 7-0 lead.  Iowa State went three-and-out but the Cyclone defense forced Oklahoma punt on its next drive. Oklahoma kicker Jimmy Stevens later added a 37-yard field goal for a 10-0 Sooner advantage with 4:13 left in the first quarter.

Iowa State drove into Oklahoma territory on each of its second-quarter drives. Grant Mahoney followed up with a miss on a 45-yard field goal attempt and his 50-yard field goal attempt as time expired in the first half was short.

In the second quarter, Oklahoma wide receiver Ryan Broyles split two Iowa State defenders and caught a 39-yard TD pass from Jones that had put the Sooners up 17-0 with 13:06 left in the first half. OU's seven-play, 59-yard drive made it 24-0 with 4:29 left in the second quarter. A final TD just before the end of the half gave the Sooners a 31-0 lead at halftime.

Iowa State freshman Kirby Van Der Kamp averaged 49.1 yards on eight punts while placing three kicks inside the 20-yard line. Van Der Kamp had three punts of 60 yards or more.

David Sims had a career-high 16 tackles for the Cyclones. Jake Knott and A.J. Klein finished with 13 tackles each.

Collin Franklin tied a career-high with six receptions for 34 yards. Jake Williams had a season-high 51 yards on three receptions.
