No. 14 Iowa State 10-0 With 72-50 Win Saturday

AMES, Iowa – The No. 14 Iowa State women’s basketball team (10-0, 0-0 Big 12) continued its undefeated run with a 72-50 win over the Holy Cross Crusaders (7-3, 0-0 Patriot League) Saturday at Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State was led by a double-double performance by Nikki Moody, who recorded 14 points and 10 assists for ISU.

How It Happened:
After getting off to a slow start and going down 6-0, the Cyclones rebounded with a 22-8 run to close the half. Iowa State used eight first-half 3-pointers to help close the gap, with Kidd Blaskowsky leading Iowa State with a 3-of-3 performance from deep in the first half. Iowa State would enter the locker room with a 41-22 lead.

The Cyclones continued their momentum into the second half holding Holy Cross to just 28 second-half points. Iowa State also out-rebounded the Crusaders 46-to-35.

Game Ball Goes To…
Nikki Moody. Moody got the Cyclones back on track with a clutch 3-pointer after a slow start. The junior guard would notch a season-high nine assists in just the first half while recording her fourth double-digit scoring game with 10 first half points.

In the second half, Moody was quick to knock down a double-double, ending the game with 14 points, 10 assists and four rebounds.

Quick Hits:
*The Cyclones won their 76th consecutive non-conference game in Hilton Coliseum.
*Four Cyclones (Moody, Buckley, Blaskowsky and Christofferson) scored in double-figures for the second time this season.
*Moody became the fourth different Cyclone to record a double-double this season with 14 points and 10 assists. It was also her fifth career double-double
*Moody also set a season-high with 10 assists, her 11th career game with 10 or more assists.
*Tenisha Matlock recorded her first points and rebounds as a Cyclone. She played 13 minutes and recorded four points and six rebounds.
