No. 13 Iowa State Falls to West Virginia, 73-59
Iowa State was able to reduce the WVU lead to six points multiple times in the second half, but timely 3-pointers by the Mountaineers shot down the Cyclones’ momentum.
How It Happened:
The Cyclones came out to a slow start, with West Virginia knocking down seven three-pointers in the first half, and the Cyclones going 0-for-12 from long range. WVU would grab as much as a 15-point lead over Iowa State, marking ISU’s largest deficit of the season. The Cyclones would enter the locker room trailing 23-36.
Iowa State would continue to struggle in the second half, with West Virginia extending its lead to as much as 16. Iowa State would begin to mount a fierce second-half comeback to pull within six on multiple occasions. The comeback just wouldn’t be enough as the Cyclones ultimately fell to the Mountaineers, 73-59.

Game Ball Goes To…
Hallie Christofferson. Christofferson was the Cyclones only source of offense throughout much of the game, with another 20-point performance. This was the 25th 20-point game of her career. The senior finished the 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting and five rebounds.
*Iowa State extended its three-point streak to 597 games after a three by Brynn Williamson in the second half.
*Hallie Christofferson led the Cyclones with 21 points, her 11th time leading ISU this season. This was also her 11th 20-point game of the season.
*This was the first time this season the Cyclones trailed at the half, being behind the Mountaineers 36-23 at the break.
