Gabe Rodriguez, who served as wide receivers and running backs coach at his alma mater, Eastern New Mexico in 2006, is in his second season as a graduate assistant coaching defense at Iowa State. A native of Roswell, N.M., Rodriguez earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Eastern New Mexico in 2001. He earned a master’s degree there in health and physical education/sports administration in 2003 while serving on the Greyhound coaching staff.

Rodriguez worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Eastern New Mexico from 2001-2003 and then as an athletics strength and conditioning coach at Arizona State in 2003.  From 2004-06 he served as defensive coordinator at Farwell, N.M. High School while working as head track and strength and conditioning coach. He is currently pursuing a second master's degree in higher education at Iowa State.
