AMES, Iowa - Landry Jones threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 12 Oklahoma (6-2, 4-1 Big 12) to a 35-20 victory over Iowa State (5-4, 2-4 Big 12) Saturday afternoon at Jack Trice Stadium.

Jones directed the Sooners to 593 yards of total offense in the win while the OU defense held ISU to 290 yards of offense. Jones and the Sooners were 9-of-14 on 3rd down conversions.

The first quarter ended with no scoring, as the Sooners were shut out in the first stanza for the first time this season. On OU's first drive, the Cyclones stopped the Sooners on 4th and 1 at the ISU 5-yard line when Jeremiah George stuffed Blake Bell for no gain.

The Sooners got on the board first when Jones threw a perfect pass to Sterling Shepard for a 20-yard touchdown catch on 3rd and 8, as OU took a 7-0 lead with 10:00 left in the 2nd quarter.

Durrell Givens helped the Cyclones dent the scoreboard with a pair of interceptions in the 2nd quarter. Givens' first pick was returned 47 yards to the OU 15. Edwin Arceo booted a 27-yard field goal four plays later to make it 7-3 Sooners.

Givens' second interception led to a career-long 51-yarder by Arceo, as the Cyclones closed the gap to 7-6 with 1:04 remaining the half.

OU quickly answered with a 4-play, 75-yard touchdown drive in 0:56 seconds right before the half. Jones hit Justin Brown for 40 yards followed by a 21-yard toss to Kenny Stills in the end zone to make it 14-6 OU at the break.

The Sooners maintained their momentum, taking their opening drive of the second half 75 yards for a touchdown to increase their lead to 21-6. Jones connected with Jalen Saunders on a 20-yard toss for the score.

ISU came right back, however, mounting an impressive 65-yard drive on six plays capped off by a Jarvis West 19-yard touchdown run on an end-around. James White had a 20-yard run on the drive, as the Cyclones cut the OU lead to 21-13.

Back-to-back touchdowns by OU gave the Sooners a comfortable 35-13 cushion with 10:59 left in the game. Jones' fourth TD pass on the day was to Stills, his second of the game, on a 31-yard strike.

ISU still had life, cutting the OU lead to 35-20 when Shontrelle Johnson broke the goal line on a 2-yard run with 6:32 left in the contest.

The Cyclones were in Sooner territory again late in the fourth quarter, but a Steele Jantz pass was picked off by Tony Jefferson.

The Sooners were aided by a career-high 157 yards on the ground by Brennan Clay.

Jantz ended the game completing 20-of-40 passes for 191 yards. Quenton Bundrage corralled four passes for 44 yards.

Givens' two interceptions improved his takeaway total on the season to eight for the Cyclone senior. George, who started in the place of the injured Jake Knott, registered a career-high 17 tackles. Cliff Stokes added 15 stops to the Cyclone defensive effort.

Iowa State travels to Texas next week (Nov. 10) for an 11 a.m. kickoff in Austin, Texas.
