ISU Signee Seanna Johnson Earns Honor

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State women’s basketball signee Seanna Johnson received DeLaSalle High School’s 2013 Athena Award, which is given annually to 53 high school seniors from Minneapolis, suburban and private area high schools. All award recipients will be recognized at a luncheon May 3 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Johnson, a 5-10 guard, helped the Islanders to their third-straight state championship this season. She was a four-time all-conference player and member of the Class AAA State All-Tournament Team. She earned Minnesota Coaches Association All-State honors twice while scoring more than 2,000 points and grabbing 1,000 rebounds.

Johnson also carries a 3.06 grade point average.
