AMES, Iowa- Iowa State senior goalkeeper Maddie Jobe earned Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced Tuesday. This marks the sixth time that Jobe has been named conference defensive player of the week in her career.

Jobe earned the honors after she turned in another stellar performance against the Baylor Bears Friday Oct. 18. Jobe recorded her sixth shutout of the season and the 20th of her career, four more than any other goalkeeper in Iowa State soccer history.  The Bears fired 21 shots with nine being on goal. The Cyclone goalkeeper didn't let the Bears sniff the back of the net, making eight total saves.

Jobe's skills were put to test as Baylor registered an incredible 12 corner kicks, the senior made save after save in regulation and overtime to hand the Bears their first shutout loss of the season. She leads the Big 12 in saves (38) and saves per game (6.53) in conference play.

Jobe currently leads the Big 12 in saves this season with 82 and her 310 career saves rank second all-time in the Cyclone record book.
