AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics team (0-1 overall, 0-0 Big 12) will play host to No. 7 Michigan (0-0) and Illinois State (0-1) in Hilton Coliseum on Friday at 6:30 p.m. It will be the first regular season tri-meet that the Cyclones have hosted since 2010.

The Cyclones will look to build on their season-opening performance against No. 15 Penn State. Iowa State fell to the Nittany Lions by a score of 193.925-193.550, but posted its highest team score in a season opener since 2007.

The performance of junior Caitlin Brown was one of the highlights in the Cyclones’ first meet. The Apple Valley, Minn. native won the all-around competition by posting a career-high score of 38.900. The Cyclones also boasted the top three scorers in the floor exercise (Henrietta Green, Milan Ivory, Brown) and balance beam (Alex Marasco, Brown, Green) in their dual with the Nittany Lions. Iowa State also had the two highest scores of the night on bars, led by Green and Camille Santerre.
