Volleyball Readies for Europe Trip Next Week
AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State volleyball team will be traveling to Europe next week to begin a 10-day trip across four different countries and multiple matches. The trip will feature stops in the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia and Italy.
The ISU travel party will depart Iowa and the United States next Thursday and begin the journey in Prague, Czech Republic. The Cyclones will spend three days in the Czech capital sightseeing and will play a match against the Czech Republic Junior National Team.
Monday, May 26, is a travel day as the ISU contingent will stop in Vienna, Austria en route to a three-night stay in Maribor, Slovenia. The second-largest city in Slovenia, the Cyclones will take on the Junior National Team from Slovenia in a match during the week.
On Thursday, May 29, the Cyclones will enter Italy and stay one night in Venice. The next day, the Cyclones will depart “The Floating City” and head across the Peninsula to Cinque Terre, Italy for a day trip. ISU will then make its way to Milan, where the Cyclones will train at the Olympic Training Center and take part in a match against the Italian Junior National Team.
As with foreign trips by NCAA teams, the Iowa State volleyball team gets 10 practices before departing for their trip and those practices have already begun.
