Jackson at ISU: Awards and Honors ... Rated as one of the top 10 defensive backs nationally by The Sporting News (2006) ... 2006 Pre-season first-team all-Big 12 (The Sporting News) ... Honorable mention all-Big 12 (2005 AP) ... ISU Academic Achievement Award (2004) ... co-recipient of 2005 Al and Dean Knudson Award (outstanding defensive player) ... 2005 ... a ball-hawking cornerback who tied for the team in interceptions (five), with teammate LaMarcus Hicks ... also had eight pass breakups ... had 55 stops and four forced fumbles ... team’s leading kickoff returner, averaging 24.6 yards on 24 returns ... ranked second in the Big 12 and 33rd nationally ... one of 26 players in Division I-A with five or more interceptions and tied for the Big 12 lead ... four forced fumbles was also among the nation’s top 20, and second in the Big 12 ... forced two fumbles against Iowa ... had three breakups at Army and two at Kansas ... made a season-high nine tackles against Colorado ... 2004 ... High School: Two-year starter at quarterback ... team was district champ his sophomore and senior years ... played free safety as a sophomore ... three-year letterwinner ... first-team all-district quarterback ... Tom Landry Classic game MVP ... rushed for 435 yards and seven touchdowns and threw for 401 yards and three touchdowns as a senior ... missed junior season due to a bruised kidney in the first game of the season ... kidney was removed and he was cleared to play as a senior ... also returned punts ... coached by Jeff Jordan ... lettered four times in track and field.
