Two-time national champion Doug Wood was a master on the rings for Iowa State’s powerhouse men’s gymnastics team in the 1970s. The Clarendon Hills, Ill., native was the NCAA champion on the rings in 1976 and 1977, one of six multiple NCAA champions in the program’s history.

Highlights:
- Two-time national champion, winning the individual rings title at the NCAA meet in 1976 and 1977
- Along with ISU hall of famer Keith Heaver, the pair won consecutive NCAA ring titles for the Cyclones from 1974-77
- Two-time All-American (1976 & 1977)
- One of six multiple NCAA champions in men’s gymnastics history
- Big Eight rings champion in 1977
- Member of Iowa State’s 1974 NCAA championship team
