As a four-year starter for the Iowa State women's volleyball team from 1992-95, Steph McCannon helped lead the Cyclones to their first-ever NCAA Volleyball Championship appearance. A native of West Point, Iowa, McCannon was a multiple all-conference performer and ended her career as the Big Eight all-time leader in digs and was among the top-20 in the NCAA in career digs.

- Three-time First-Team Academic All-Big Eight (1994, 1994, 1995).
- Led ISU to a third-place NIT showing in 1994.

- Ranked in the top-10 nationally in digs in 1994 and 1995.
- Averaged 4.73 digs per game in 1994, a Big Eight single-season record.
