Cyclone Headlines
- Iowa State, which is ranked No. 23 in The Associated Press poll and is No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, returns home to face Texas Tech Saturday afternoon following a pair of Big 12 road games in which the Cyclones went 1-1. Saturday’s game is the annual White Out game and fans are encouraged to wear white.
- Just days after mounting a double-digit comeback against West Virginia, the Cyclones fell victim to a big comeback by Kansas. ISU led by 18 points before Kansas stormed back to force overtime at Allen Fieldhouse. ISU came up on the short end, losing 78-75 to KU to drop to 5-4 in league play.
- Christofferson is eighth in the Big 12 averaging 14.8 points per game and 10th in rebounding at 6.6 boards per game. The junior has scored in double digits in 16 of 19 games this season. She has shot 50 percent or better from the field in 14 games. In the last five games, Christofferson has been nearly unstoppable, averaging 17.6 points and 6.6 rebounds and shooting 66.7 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from behind the arc. She is also 16-for-16 from the charity stripe during that stretch.
- The Cyclones have been one of the top defensive teams in the nation all season. Iowa State ranks 33rd nationally allowing opponents just 53.9 points per game behind the nation’s 18th-ranked field goal percentage defense (34.1 percent). Behind the arc opponents are shooting just 28.4 percent.

- Chelsea Poppens is the Big 12’s active leader with 407 career offensive rebounds. The senior is a major reason why the Cyclones have had as many or more rebounds than 16 of 19 opponents this season. Poppens has moved into third all-time at Iowa State in career rebounding and is just 54 boards away from becoming the second player in school history with 1,000 career rebounds. Only 13 Big 12 players have ever posted 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
- Nikki Moody leads the Big 12 and is second nationally dishing out 7.4 assists per game. She has posted double-digit assists in four games this season. The sophomore has recorded at least five assists in 16 of the 18 games she has played this season.
- Sophomore Brynn Williamson has taken on the defensive stopper role this season and is averaging a team-high 1.5 steals per game. Despite the increased defensive role, Williamson still ranks among the nation’s top shooters, hitting on 40.4 percent of her threes. She has hit 40 threes this season and 88 in her career.
- Anna Prins and Christofferson are nearing 1,000 career points. Prins has 981 and Christofferson is at 904 heading into Saturday’s game.
