AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State wrestling team (6-4 overall, 1-2 Big 12) host No. 20 Northern Iowa (8-3 overall) in its final home dual of the season on Friday at Hilton Coliseum. The dual marks the annual Beauty and the Beast event, as the gymnastics team will compete simultaneously with the wrestlers.

"This is a great event for Iowa State fans," head coach Kevin Jackson said. "It creates a great atmosphere. For me it kind of gives me an Olympics feel with both gymnastics and wrestling being Olympic sports. When it comes to events on campus, the energy and intensity surrounding this one is second to none."

The Cyclones have won 10-straight duals over the Panthers, dating back to a 19-16 win on Jan. 24, 2004 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Last season, the Cyclones were victorious over the Panthers as Matt Gibson scored a 7-1 decision in the final match of the dual, scoring three team points and sealing the dual win for Iowa State, 19-17.

"UNI is a tough team that will come out and test you both physically and mentally," Jackson said. "They've had a lot of success this season, knocking off some really powerful teams. It's a rivalry that both teams feel strongly about and I expect every match to be contested."
