NORMAN, Okla. – Iowa State junior golfer Chonlada Chayanun advanced to the match play portion of the 2013 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship on Tuesday.

A native of Nakhonratchaslma, Thailand, Chayanun fired rounds of 74-78 (152) at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club to tie for 51st in the stroke play portion of the tournament. The top 64 competitors move on to match play competition, which begins today.

Chayanun faces Canada’s Anne-Catherine Tanguay in the first round of match play this afternoon.

Chayanun posted a 75.4 stroke average as a junior last year, helping the Cyclones advance to their fourth-straight NCAA Regional appearance. Chayanun led all Cyclones at the NCAA Central Regional, tying for 42nd (223) at the same Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.
