AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Athletics Department announced today that Nicole Greiner and Patrick Tarbox will join the Athletics Communications office as assistant directors.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Greiner received her journalism degree from Florida in 2011 while working as a student assistant in the UF Athletics Communications office for 2 ½ seasons.
After brief stints with the Atlantic Sun and Charlotte Bobcats, Greiner joined the athletics communications staff at Arkansas in 2012-13. Greiner was the primary contact for swimming and diving and was the secondary contact for men’s hoops for the Razorbacks. Greiner’s duties at Iowa State will include: primary contact for women’s basketball, secondary contact for football and oversee soccer.
“We are thrilled to have Nicole join our office,” said Mike Green, Director of Athletics Communications at Iowa State. “We really feel she is a rising star in our profession and she possesses all of the abilities which we were looking for.”
Tarbox, who hails from West Des Moines, is a 2012 Iowa State graduate, working 4 ½ years in the ISU Athletics Communications office as a student assistant. Tarbox was the recipient of the 2012 Pete Taylor Memorial Scholarship.
Tarbox spent the 2012-13 season as an intern at TCU where he was the primary contact for the Horned Frog track and field and swimming and diving programs. Tarbox will be in charge of volleyball, softball and gymnastics as a member of the ISU Athletics Communications staff.
“I observed Patrick’s work ethic and skills for a number of years when he was a student in our office,” Green said. “He understands our mission and already has a wonderful rapport with our administration and coaches. It is great to have him back at Iowa State.”
