How It Happened
The Cyclones started off hot hitting a three-pointer on the first possession of the game and jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first four minutes of the contest. Things cooled off for the Cyclones as the Cowgirls went on a 12-0 run, before Jadda Buckley was able to draw a foul and connect on both free throws.  Nikki Moody finished the first half strong drilling back-to-back three’s with 5:39 remaining in the period, including a 4-point play after she was fouled on her fourth three-pointer of the day.

The Cyclones finished the first half strong scoring on two of its last three possessions running to a 37-30 lead at the break.

A slow start to the second-half allowed the Cowgirls to jump to a 39-37 lead in the first two minutes of the period.  Seanna Johnson put the Cyclones on the board first netting the game up 39-39 after a nice entry pass from Hallie Christofferson.

Turnovers plagued the Cyclone during the second half as the Iowa State offense wasn’t able to get into any sort of rhythm. The Cyclones went cold the final three minutes of the contest ultimately falling 67-57.
