IRVING, Texas – Iowa State senior diver Julie Dickinson has been named Big 12 Diver of the Week for the award's final installment of the 2016-17 season, the conference announced Wednesday. It is the first time Dickinson has earned the award this season and the third time of her career.
The Clive, Iowa, native garnered the recognition by sweeping the final three dual meets of her collegiate career. Her six wins over that span came by more than 130 combined points and included the No. 5, No. 8 and No. 9 scores on the one-meter board in Cyclone history.
Dickinson now holds four of the top-10 one-meter scores in team history heading into the 2017 Big 12 Championship later this month. The team captain also set her season-high marks during the stretch, posting a 309.15 on the one-meter board against West Virginia and 301.05 on the three-meter board against UNI.
Dickinson qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championship in the Cyclones' season-opener last fall and will be making her third-consecutive trip to the event in March 6-8 in Columbia, Missouri.
