AMES, Iowa – Iowa State hosts Arizona this Thursday before heading to Boulder for a Saturday matchup with No. 24 Colorado. ISU received votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll for the fourth week in a row after picking up another Big 12 win last week.

1 – Morgan Brandt leads all active Big 12 players with 3,339 career assists. The total ranks fourth in program history.
3 – Christy Johnson-Lynch ranks No. 3 all time in Big 12 history with 212 league victories.
5 – ISU hit at .333 or better in the first five matches of the season. The last time ISU had a stretch of five-straight .300 matches happened in in 1992.
8 – The Cyclones ended con-conference at 10-1, the best mark in eight seasons.
15 – Iowa State ranks top 15 nationally in both kills (14.25 per set) and assists (13.18 per set).
16 – Maya Duckworth stands 16 kills away from becoming the 12th Cyclone in program history to hit 1,000 career kills. Duckworth currently ranks 13th in ISU history.
The 2025 Cyclones
Iowa State won in four hosting West Virginia last week. Maya Duckworth had the spark as she came in during the second set and hit a match-leading 12 kills at .333, averaging 4.00 per set.
Rachel Van Gorp had big saves and totaled 26 digs vs. WVU. She led the Big 12 in week eight averaging 6.50 digs per set, with the next-highest average being 5.63. Tierney Jackson had 11 kills at .409 to go along with four aces and four digs. Morgan Brandt was also a star with her third double-double of the season with 49 assists and 11 digs.
The Opponents
Iowa State and Arizona will meet for the second time as conference opponents, and third time in series history. The series is currently tied 1-1, and the Wildcats will play at Hilton Coliseum for the first time. Jordan Wilson ranks 26th nationally averaging 4.40 kills per set this season, while setter Avery Scoggins is 16th in the nation with 10.43 assists per set. Arizona is on a three-match win streak that began with an upset over No. 16 Baylor in Tucson.
The Cyclones look for the first win over Colorado since Nov. 16, 2010. Since then, the two teams have met just twice. No. 24 Colorado is on a hot streak after opening Big 12 play with road wins at No. 14 BYU and No. 23 Utah. The Buffaloes' lone Big 12 loss came at No. 8 Arizona State in four sets. This season Colorado has held opponents to 0.166 hitting, the 18th-lowest in the nation and lowest in the Big 12.
